Intro : How It Works : Created By : Moderators : Contact Us

The Town Hall provides an opportunity for Great Lakes residents to learn from one another by sharing information, ideas, and different perspectives. We expect participants to share their interests, experiences, and concerns and to be constructive solution-finders.

The opinions expressed in the Great Lakes Town Hall are those of Town Hall participants and do not necessarily reflect the positions of Biodiversity Project or any participant's institution.

Town Hall Posting Guidelines

What to do:
  • Maintain a collaborative open-minded approach.
  • Ask questions.
  • Read others' comments before you prepare yours.
  • Respect and recognize the ideas and opinions of others.
  • Limit your comments to the issues under discussion. If you want to talk about something tangential to the issue being discussed, consider posting a new topic on the Great Lakes Community Bulletin.
  • Offer constructive solutions when you disagree.
  • Create concise messages that contribute unique points or perspectives.
What not to do:
  • Engage in uncivil debate, this is a discussion with room for many views.
  • Endorse a candidate for public office.
  • Sell your products and services.
  • Post copy-righted material.
  • Make personal attacks on people inside or outside of the discussion.
  • The dialogue host reserves the right to edit or delete comments that clearly fall outside of these bounds.
