More Chicago Logic - Mayor Daley on Carp, Oil, and Michigan

A few weeks ago I posted a piece titled Chicago Logic. In it a Chicago water executive said that because the Chicago River is polluted, it is safe because people can't swim in it, therefore they won't drown. That was the rationale for not trying to improve the river.

Now comes Mayor Daley commenting on Asian Carp in the Mississippi, the oil spill in Michigan, and a broadside against Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox. Michigan (and four other states that Daley didn't mention) are suing Chicago's regional water district and the Army Corps of Engineers over their handling of the Asian Carp issue. The City of Chicago is not named in the suit.

Here is Chicago Mayor Daley commenting on oil and carp. More Chicago logic.

LEGAL v. ILLEGAL CARP

Has Mayor Daleys' anger toward his other GL partners been reduced to non-sencical attacks like this? What a bummer.

His arguement is that the carp are legal down-state, so why not here?  Makes me wonder when the invaisive species gained legal status. This needs investigation.

I would like to thank the Mayor for pointing out the need for a thourough investigation into the oil leak.  Mr. Cox, the MI AG should not be seen dragging his feet while running for Gov.

Perhaps the Mayors' best-point interated the need for CLEAN DRINKING WATER.  Unfortunatly, kinda lost in the muck.
